About

Here's why I do photography. When I was in high school, I remember a friend of mine saying (and I quote), "I want to leave my hand print on the world." I thought long and hard about that. It never left my mind and stirred something within me. Nobody wants to be forgotten. There is an innate desire to leave behind a legacy for our posterity. Somehow, we feel like a part of us is alive still and connected if we are remembered.

I became intensly occupied with photography after that. It was my way of preserving someone's life and allowing other people, present and future, to know something special about that person. A way to allow that moment to somehow live on. Our memories do fade and we do forget, but photographs enliven details we would never have otherwise remembered. I have a passion for doing that for people. I just know your great great great grandchildren will look at your photographs one day and feel a sense of nostalgia as they wonder about who you were. I feel a sense of satisfaction knowing that they will be able to catch a glimpse of your essence by the sparkle in your eyes, or the grace in your fingertips. Whatever it is that makes you who you are.

I can do something better than leaving my handprint on the world. I can provide a way for you to communicate with your posterity and beckon their hearts to remember you.
